THUNDER BAY -- The planned closure of High Street to complete construction of the retaining wall has been delayed by a week.

The roadway, which had originally been scheduled to close on May 14, will now be shut down between John and Bay streets beginning on May 21, according to a city news release issued Thursday morning.

Cornwall Avenue above High Street will also be closed.

City engineers last year said curb and gutter additions and pavement work remains to be completed.

The closure is expected to last six weeks.

Detour signs will be posted and access will be allowed only for local traffic.
