THUNDER BAY — Many motorists in the city are fuming over the latest jump in gasoline prices.
Prices have escalated sharply over the last few days, and in some cases are as much as 50 cents a litre higher than the current Ontario average.
According to ontariogasprices.com, some city gas bars were charging 196.9 ¢ on Tuesday morning.
Gasbuddy.com showed that numerous others were charging 181.9 ¢ or less.
On Fort William First Nation, the lowest price shown Tuesday morning was 163.0 ¢.
Ontariogasprices.com has calculated the average price across the province to be 146.9 ¢.
The price in Thunder Bay rose at some gas bars by almost 30 cents over the past few days, whereas the increase in Ontario was only a bit over three cents a litre.
