St. Joseph's Foundation Media Release
(Thunder Bay, ON Oct. 4, 2016) St. Joseph’s Foundation of Thunder Bay is holding its 25th Annual Grand-a-Day Draw, and the proceeds from this raffle are needed to purchase important equipment for St. Joseph’s Care Group.
This year, the goal is to raise $80,000, to purchase specialty mattresses for Long-Term Care clients at Hogarth Riverview Manor as well as an array of vital equipment for St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Currently 70 per cent of tickets have been sold and with just over 3 weeks left to purchase tickets, it is important to sell all the tickets to meet the goal.
“Equipment such as pain medication pumps for Hospice clients, or Cough Assist machines for Pulmonary Rehab clients are essential. These pieces of equipment not only ensure our staff can provide the highest quality of care, they also ensure for the client’s comfort and safety,” says Katrina O’Neill, Executive Director of St. Joseph’s Foundation.
“When people purchase a Grand A Day ticket, they aren’t just getting a chance to win money, they are providing for the well-being of those in our community” she adds.
Other equipment to be purchased includes specialty stretchers and tables for clients as well as Rehabilitation exercise equipment. The hospital departments requiring this equipment include, Hospice, Specialty Rehabilitation and Chronic Pain Management.
“If we don’t sell out, we will need to determine what equipment we won’t be able to purchase, that is a hard decision to make; so we hope the community will support St. Joseph’s Care Group, and their clients, by purchasing a ticket” says Katrina
Tickets can be purchased for $100 each by calling 768-4440 or in person at St. Joseph’s Heritage.
Tickets are on sale until October 31st. Licence #M786236
