A provincial initiative hopes to make it easier for consumers here to identify made-in-Ontario wood products.

A new Ontario wood logo was unveiled in Thunder Bay on Thursday afternoon.

The logo will be displayed next to Ontario wood displays in Home Hardware and other Canadian-owned building centres across the province.

Ontario Wood Works Executive Director Marianne Bérubé calls it an exciting development for Ontario consumers, and added that she believes it will help their efforts to promote provincial wood.

Sauer believes the improved signage will lead to higher sales of Ontario wood products.
