Streets should be clear by Wednesday, sidewalks by Friday

Snowfall estimated at about 20 centimetres, which is slowing down clearing efforts.

THUNDER BAY – It looks like it will be a couple of more days before all of Thunder Bay’s streets are cleared from the latest winter storm.

According to a memo issued by the city’s road manager, Brad Adams, local street plowing should be completed by Wednesday. Sidewalk clearing is taking more time because of the amount of snow that fell.

As a result, a blower attachment is being used, which slows down clearing efforts.

“Work continues on arterial and collector street sidewalks today and should be completed by the end of today,” Adams said in the memo, posted on Facebook by Northwood Coun. Shelby Ch’ng.

“All sidewalks should be cleared by Friday."
