Pickets were gathered outside of some commercial roofing companies in Thunder Bay Thursday.
An ongoing strike is threatening to slow down several projects in the city, including the consolidated courthouse. The workers have been without a contract since May 1 as the province-wide strike continues.
Around 10 employees from the local 3-97 union were showing their displeasure with what the contractor companies have been proposing. The biggest issue on the table is the suggestion of working weekends if days are lost due to bad weather.
Union officials argue that this suggestion, because of the large geographical region that these industrial roofing companies cover, means workers will be able to spend little tiem with their families.
The union's district manager says talks broke off Wednesday night, with contractor companies leaving the table.
There are no dates currently set for more negotiations.
