THUNDER BAY – Striking nurses at the Thunder Bay District Health Unit have reached a tentative agreement to end their month-long labour dispute.

Late on Friday night, in a joint statement, the Ontario Nurses Association and Health Unit announced they had come to the agreement and the union said it would be recommending its membership ratify the deal.

No details were made public about the tentative deal, nor was a date for the vote announced. The two sides returned to bargaining on Friday morning.

Nurses walked off the job on Oct. 16.
