Police responded to a crash involving a school bus at Court and MacDougall Streets Thursday morning.
Officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service responded to the scene just after 8 a.m. and say the school bus was loaded with students at the time. The bus was travelling westbound up the hill on MacDougall Street when it was struck by a north-bound travelling SUV on Court Street.
Police say the driver of the SUV did not stop at the stop sign on Court Street.
Thunder Bay EMS also responded, and attended to the 55-year-old woman who drove the bus and a 13-year-old student who received minor injuries.
The student was taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
An alternative bus arrived to the location to bring the remaining students to school.
Police say both the SUV and school bus sustained significant damage during the crash.
The 17-year-old driver of the SUV has been charged with disobeying a stop sign under the Highway Traffic Act.
