School children spread some holiday cheer at a local senior’s home Wednesday.

Residents at Hogarth Riverview Manor were treated to a holiday concert by student from Westmount and Edgewater Park Schools.

Westmount music teacher Krysta Dowdell said she thought it would be nice to work with another school and give back to the community.

“I think sometimes kids get overwhelmed with Christmas and think that it’s about what they get and I think sometimes it’s important to step back and think about what we can do for other people,” she said.

Westmount Grade six student Gracie Francis, 11, said that she loves to sing and thought it would be a fun experience to entertain the people at Hogarth’s.

“It just felt so good because we’re doing something for them and they enjoy it. It feels really nice to know that we’ve helped out.”
