A north-side thief made off with a different kind of bread on Wednesday night.
A lone male entered the Subway Restaurant on North Cumberland Street at around 11 p.m., demanded money and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He was holding what appeared to be a black barrel when the alleged robbery took place.
Police, who did not provide a description of the suspect, said he was last seen walking eastbound on North Cumberland.
No one was hurt during the incident and the investigation continues.
