A weekend crash in Sudbury has claimed the life of a Thunder Bay woman.
The incident took place Saturday afternoon on Highway 17 inside the Sudbury city limits. According to police, the crash occurred when an eastbound vehicle crossed the centre line of the road and came into collision with a vehicle that was heading westbound.
A second westbound vehicle swerved to avoid the collision, but lost control and stuck a rock cut.
A third westbound vehicle was unable to avoid the pile-up and also sustained damage.
The victim has been identified as Leisa Hald, 38, of Thunder Bay.
Six other people were also injured as a result of the crash.
Police say their investigation continues.
