Sudden death in Kenora

Individual pronounced dead at scene on First Street Sunday morning

KENORA, Ont. - Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a sudden death in Kenora.

OPP officers were dispatched at 9:22 a.m. Sunday after a report of a non-responsive individual  in the 200 block of First Street South by Kenora EMS.

The individual was pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts of EMS and police. 

Police say a post mortem will take place later this week in Toronto to determine cause of death.

In a release announcing the death, OPP warned of the dangers of the drug known as "yellow down" or "purple down," believed to contain fentanyl.
