UPDATE: Sudden death on city's south side

Police have not released the identity of the victim or the circumstances surrounding the person's death.

THUNDER BAY -- Thunder Bay Police continue to hold the scene of a sudden death on the city's south side. 

Police, in a release issued just after midnight on Wednesday, revealed few details about the incident, saying they are not releasing the victim's identity at this time pending a post-mortem examination. 

Witnesses said police arrived at a lot near the corner of Victoria Avenue East and Hardisty Street late Wednesday afternoon. 

Anyone with information about the death is urged to contact police. 

Police have not said whether or not they believe the death is suspicious or not or whether the body was a male or a female.
