Supply teachers reach deal with Catholic Board

Union says its members will vote on contract offer on May 15.

THUNDER BAY – After a marathon 18-hour bargaining sessions, a tentative deal has been reached between the Thunder Bay Catholic District School Board and its occasional teachers.

Aldo Grillo, president of the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association Thunder Bay local, issue a release early Tuesday morning saying a vote will take place next Monday to ratify the deal.

“This is the very last teacher contract to be settled in the province. It has been a lengthy process, and we are pleased to have finally reached a 2014-2017 contract settlement with the school board,” Grillo said.

No details of the deal were released.
