THUNDER BAY — The North Superior Workforce Planning Board wants to know how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected workers, the unemployed, and post-secondary students in the Thunder Bay district.
NSWPB announced Monday that it has created an online survey asking respondents how the measures to contain COVID-19 have impacted their professional lives as well as their personal lives.
The survey also asks about the degree to which government support programs have helped individuals and their families.
Madge Richardson, the executive director of NSWPB, says it's important to gather information that's specific to northwestern Ontario.
"It's easy for the voices of small communities to get drowned out in provincial or national surveys. We want to hear what the people in our region are going through, and what they need, so that we can respond in the most appropriate ways," Richardson said.
The information gathered in the survey will be used to advocate for local, provincial and federal programming.
It takes about 10 minutes to complete.
The survey will be posted for one week, and will be repeated in coming months to gauge the pandemic's impact over time.
