Police have arrested the suspected driver in a hit and run incident involving a cyclist.
A light-coloured minivan was seen travelling southbound on Algoma Street in the wrong lane for a lengthy distance before swerving into a parking lot in the 200 block of the street, where a cyclist was struck just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Thunder Bay Police Service's traffic unit identified the minivan that struck the male cyclist and after detectives with the criminal investigations branch spoke with the owner of the vehicle, they located the driver.
A 37-year-old male was arrested in the Limbrick Street housing complex courtyard around 11 a.m. Wednesday without incident.
The accused has been charged with dangerous driving causing bodily harm and fail to remain.
He will appear in court Thursday.
