KENORA, Ont. — One person has been arrested after a fire Wednesday morning on the Kenora waterfront.
Despite the efforts of Kenora firefighters, the boathouse and two boats were reportedly destroyed.
Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched just after 8:30 a.m. to Golf Course Bay on Lake of the Woods.
Officers were advised a man started a fire in the structure, then fled into the bush.
Frontline officers, a K-9 unit, and the OPP Emergency Response Team were all involved in the investigation, which ended with a suspecct being located nearby.
A 22-year-old man was taken into custody.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Kenora detachment.
