The suspect in Thunder Bay's first homicide of the year was back in court Wednesday, following her arrest last month on a charge of second-degree murder.

Thea Debra Gliddy, 28, remains in custody in connection with the death of 39-year-old Randy Lawrence Cromarty. The body of Cromarty was discovered in a room at the former Inntowner Motel on May 26.

A post-mortem concluded that Cromarty died of multiple stab wounds.

Gliddy's lawyer Chris Watkins is still awaiting the disclosure of evidence from the Crown, and says he plans to look into whether police had an alternative suspect or suspects in the case.
Although he can't say how Gliddy plans to plead, Watkins does say she will defend the matter vigorously. Gliddy is also expected to seek release on bail.

Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 23.
