Suspect in Victoria Avenue robbery arrested

THUNDER BAY -- City police have arrested a man believed to be connected to a Victoria Avenue robbery.

Thunder Bay Police Service officials say patrol officers spotted a man matching the description of a person involved in a robbery at Barb’s Laundromat Thursday night.

Once the man saw police he began to run and entered a home nearby.

Officers located the man hiding in the basement of the home and arrested him without incident.

Police say the man lied about his identity.

Police were able to identify the suspect once he was transported to the Balmoral Police Station.

Brian William Voss, 34, has been charged with:

  • Armed Robbery
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Obstruct Police
  • Breach of Recognizance
  • Breach of Probation

The suspect made a court appearance Friday and has been remanded to the district jail. 

None of the charges against the accused have been tested in court.
