Police have arrested a man following separate reports of a sexual assault and a stabbing early Wednesday morning.
Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say officers responded to a Park Avenue home just after 5 a.m. Officers were investigating a reported sexual assault.
Police say the victim named a 37-year-old Thunder Bay man as her attacker. The victim was later taken to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
The suspect was known to police.
About an hour later, police say they received reports of a stabbing that took place at a home on Ambrose Street.
The suspect of the sexual assault was named as a suspect in that assault case.
Officers attending the Ambrose Street incident arrested the suspect, and both incidents are currently under investigation.
The accused will be held in custody as a court date is set.
