Suspect sought in convenience store robbery

THUNDER BAY – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect accused of robbing a south side convenience store. Shortly after 1 a.m.

THUNDER BAY – Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect accused of robbing a south side convenience store.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday morning the suspect entered a Mac’s location on James Street South and demanded money from the register. He then fled after receiving money from the employee.

The suspect is described as being between 5’7” 5’9” in height, weighing about 175 pounds wearing jeans and a grey hoodie that covered his face. 

Surveillance video of the subject was posted and shared by the Mac’s Crime Busters Twitter account, run by the company’s security and loss prevention department.

Police officials confirmed they are investigating the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to contact city police or Crime Stoppers.
