Suspected shoplifter charged with two convenience store robberies

Police have made another arrest related to a Mac's convenience store robbery.

Police have made another arrest related to a Mac's convenience store robbery.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say charges were laid against a young man who was already arrested for a shoplifting incident at the Future Shop on Tuesday.

Police had released this surveillance photo on Monday, in connection with an armed robbery at a Mac's on South Syndicate Avenue just after 10 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect was carrying a knife.

Then on Monday evening, another Mac's store was robbed in similar fashion, this time on Beverley Street.

Police now say the Future Shop suspect has also been charged in connection with both of the Mac's robberies.

The 20 year-old man remains in police custody and is facing several charges, including two counts of robbery, breach of probation, and theft.
