Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to reports of a man smashing a vehicle’s window just after 9 p.m. Tuesday at the CLE grounds on Northern Avenue. Witnesses say the man had fled the area on a bicycle.

Later that night police responded to a collision at Finlayson and May Streets. The crash involved a cyclist and a car.

The 48-year-old cyclist, suspected of being the man who smashed vehicle windows earlier that night, was sent to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The man has been charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000 and mischief under $5,000.
