THUNDER BAY – Two suspects charged in a homicide case last year have pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Both Chauncy Lyle Grover and Alyssa Lynn Jourdain, charged in the August 2014 death of 64-year-old Leslie Perrault, entered their pleas on Monday afternoon at the Thunder Bay Courthouse.

The Thunder Bay Police Service began an investigation after being alerted to a suspicious death at a Machar Avenue home in the early morning hours of Aug. 18.

Grover and Jourdain were arrested within the following days and charged with second-degree murder.

At the time of the arrest, police officials said Grover and Jourdain were in a common-law relationship and were the residents of the home where Perrault’s body was found.

The cause of Perrault’s death has not been publicly disclosed.

Facts of the case were not read into court on Monday.

Sentencing submissions are to be heard in March 2016.
