Suspects sought in corner store robbery

THUNDER BAY – City police have turned to the public to help identify a pair of suspects wanted in connection with a May 12 robbery at a south-side convenience store.

At about 9 p.m. on the night in question police allege two males entered Alley’s Corner Variety Store on South Franklin Street and demanded money from the female clerk.

One of the suspects then jumped over the counter and took money out of the till, the two wanted men also grabbing cigarettes before fleeing.

Police say they were on scene in minutes and searched the area, but were unable to locate the two men.

The clerk was not hurt during the incident.

Both suspects are described as being in their early 20s. The first has an average build, was clean shaven and was wearing a black Sons of Anarchy hoodie with dark pants and a black baseball cap. The second suspect had a scruffy beard and was wearing a red-brimmed baseball hat.
