Suspicious man arrested in Marathon

An investigation into reports of a suspicious man in Marathon led to an arrest and several charges including uttering threats and theft under $5,000.

(MARATHON, ON) –On October 4, 2016 at approximately 2:50 p.m. members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marathon detachment received a report of a suspicious male in the Town of Marathon. 

Officers attended a public building on Peninsula Road, Marathon and located the male who was the subject of the complaint. 

The male had consumed alcohol and was taken into police custody for being intoxicated in a public place. 

After investigation a 42-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death, Fail to Comply with Recognizance, Resist Peace Officer, and Theft Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code. 

He remains in custody and is to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on October 6, 2016 to answer to these charges.
