A man sleeping in his vehicle crashed into a police cruiser before speeding off after officers woke him up Friday morning.
The strange incident took place on city's north side and has left the cruiser with significant damage.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers were called to Clayte Street to investigate an improperly parked vehicle. When they arrived, they found a man and woman sleeping inside an SUV.
Once awake the man started up the vehicle and quickly threw it into reverse, striking and disabling the police vehicle before speeding away.
A search of the area brought police to Grandview Mall, where the vehicle was located.
Two suspects were taken into custody inside the mall. They now face a number of charges.
