Swimmers missing on Lake of the Woods

OPP's underwater search and rescue unit is en route to assist local officials in finding the two swimmers, reported in distress on Thursday afternoon.

KENORA, Ont.  – Ontario Provincial Police are searching for a pair of missing swimmers on Lake of the Woods.

In a release issued on Friday morning, OPP say on Thursday at about 1:30 p.m. they received a complaint of two swimmers in distress in the waters adjacent to McLeod Park.

Kenora EMS and Kenora Fire attended the call to assist with the search, which also includes the OPP’s marine and trails and crime units.

The OPP’s underwater search and recovery unit are also en route to help with the search, police promising further updates as they become available.
