OSHAWA, Ont. – Sometimes it’s not how you start, but how you finish.

The Lakehead Thunderwolves proved that on Saturday night, rallying from a nine-point deficit at halftime to knock off a pesky Ontario Tech Ridgebacks squad 88-73, outscoring the home side 50-26 in the second half.

Michael Okafor led the way again to help the Thunderwolves snap a season-high two-game losing streak, scoring 24 points and completing the double-double with 11 rebounds.

Nathan Bilamu led all scorers off the bench, putting up 27 for LU, who improved to 15-5. Jared Kreiner added nine in a reserve role, hitting three of seven three-point attempts.

Levi Ogbonna led the Ridgebacks with 18 points.

The T-Wolves moved into a first-place tie in the OUA Central with Brock, the Badgers having lost two in a row.

Lakehead returns home to round out their OUA schedule, tangling with Algoma (3-17) on Friday night and finishing off with No. 1 Carleton (16-4) on Saturday night.
