THUNDER BAY — City police have charged the driver of a licensed taxicab with sexual assault overnight.
25-year-old taxi driver Sehaj Singh is alleged to have assaulted a female passenger, according to a media release issued by Thunder Bay Police Service Thursday afternoon.
According to police, officers responded shortly after 1:30 a.m. Thursday, after receiving a report of a possible sexual assault.
The woman reported being sexually assaulted by the driver of a taxicab in which she was a passenger. She was taken to hospital for assessment and treatment.
The investigation led to the identification of the suspect vehicle, police subsequently located and arrested Singh.
The accused appeared in court on Thursday.
