UPDATE: Tbaytel cellular service restored

Company has yet to say what caused the outage, which affected customers throughout Northwestern Ontario.

THUNDER BAY -- Tbaytel's cellular service appears to be up and running after a lengthy outage on Tuesday morning. 

Customers throughout the region are posting messages about outages in Dryden, Thunder Bay, Atikokan and Sault Ste. Marie. Service was restored just before 9:30 a.m. 

The company has confirmed there is a mobility outage and said that crews are working on the situation, but no further details have been made public at this time. Messages have been left with the city-owned utility's communications department seeking comment.
