THUNDER BAY -- Tbaytel customers are facing outages on Monday morning due to planned maintenance work by the utility on its mobility service core. The company later said service is also being affected by a nationwide Rogers Communications outage.

The city-owned company says while the work is ongoing, HSPA voice and data, LTE voice and data and VoLTE services may be affected.

"Some wireless customers are experiencing an intermittent service interruption for wireless voice and data services. Our team is working quickly to restore services as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and will continue to provide regular updates," Rogers tweeted on the company's official account.

There is no estimate when the Rogers outage will be alleviated.
