THUNDER BAY — The fire department responded to a structure fire on Thursday.
Thunder Bay Fire & Rescue (TBFR) were called to a garage fire on the city's east end around 3 p.m.
Met with heavy smoke, the front of the garage was being consumed by the flames along with the contents inside.
Crews were able to keep the fire contained and stop it from spreading to nearby homes.
EMS was also present and assessed residents for smoke inhalation, but no injuries were sustained.
During the incident, live wires to the structure had fallen in the back lane and created a future safety issue. This has since been resolved by TBFR and remedied by Synergy North.
A total of six pumper trucks, one aerial ladder truck and a command unit responded.
