THUNDER BAY – Ken Boshcoff is taking on the interim role as executive director of the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra.

The long-time politician and former city mayor is taking over from outgoing executive director and general manager Barry Streib, who tendered his resignation last month.

Boshcoff joined the symphony last June, aiming to help the orchestra with a new revenue-generating project and expand the number of supporters in the community, according to a release issued on Monday by the TBSO.

The symphony also announced the appointment of Linda Penner as its new board president. Succeeding long-time president Paul Inksetter, who will remain on the board as past president.

Five new board members were also welcomed aboard – Lori Della Vedova, Shy-Anne Hovorka Bartlett, Jonathan Knapp, Jeff Sampson and Trevor Keller.

“I continue to be inspired by the skills and commitment from both the long standing members of our orchestra family, and from those new members who have now joined us,” said Penner in the release. “We look forward to working together as a team as we conclude this season and launch our 57th.”
