THUNDER BAY - More than thirty teachers are preparing to pack up and move North.

Teach for Canada works with First Nations communities to recruit, prepare and support educators looking for a unique experience.

These teachers have just begun their three-week training session to prepare themselves for teaching in northern Ontario come September.

Many have already participated in the program and know what to expect, while others will learn for the first time about the challenges they will face by living and working in the North.

For those who have never gone, they are excited and nervous and for those who have, they are eager to get back to the communities who have always welcomed them with open arms.

The training will include dozens of workshops and interactive sessions at Lakehead University to make sure the teachers are ready.
