Teen Challenge Thunder Bay is looking to hook city residents into spending the weekend outdoors at their first-ever ice fishing derby.

It's set to kick off Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Whitefish Lake.  Organizer Robby Ahuja said the weather looks to be co-operating and ice conditions are ideal.

He added that they are making a final push to fill all 300 spots before the derby begins.

The person who catches the biggest fish Saturday will walk away with a $10,000 cash prize.

And the derby continues Sunday as well.

Ahuja said it should be a fun-filled weekend for all.

All money raised at the derby will go toward the Teen Challenge programs, which help city youth combat drug addictions.
