THUNDER BAY -  A teenager charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault in connection to a homicide earlier this month will soon begin the process of seeking bail.

The young male was the second suspect arrested in a north-side homicide that left one person dead and another person with injuries.

A section of the Youth Criminal Justice Act prevents the publication of the boy’s name or any information that could identify him.

A separate temporary publication ban was imposed banning any information on evidence heard in court on Thursday.

The teenaged boy, who is in custody, made an in-person court appearance on Thursday morning to say he would be retaining George Joseph as a lawyer and he may begin the bail process application in the near future.

He was remanded to a court date next week as his lawyer goes over the disclosure provided by Crown counsel.

Members of the Thunder Bay Police Service were dispatched just after midnight on March 3 to the 100-block of Picton Avenue.

When officers arrived, they located two female victims outside near the street. Both victims were transported to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre where one victim died of her injuries.

Police arrested Brianna Lynn Netemgesic, 20, in the early morning hours of March 3, who was charged with second-degree murder and aggravated assault.

None of the allegations have been proven in court.
