A Fort Hope teen who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the 2010 stabbing death of another teen in that community was sentenced on Tuesday at Thunder Bay's Superior Court of Justice.
The accused, who cannot be identified in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was 15 years old at the time of the incident.
He was given a two-year sentence, but was given credit for six months already spent in custody.
Of the remaining year-and-a-half, three months will be spent in custody and 15 months will be spent in his home community under supervision.
The teen must also return to school and complete his high school diploma, and partake in anger management and substance abuse counselling.
