City police say a young man is now facing charges after he flipped his father’s pickup truck early Friday morning.

Officials with the Thunder Bay Police Service say the incident took place just before 12:30 a.m. when a young man took his father’s pick-up truck for a ride. The driver collided with two sets of guard rails along the Balsam Pits and flipped the truck onto its roof.

Police later charged the teen driver with impaired driving.

Police describe the truck as a “complete write off.”

The teen driver sustained a bruised shoulder as a result of the crash. He also did not have a driver’s licence.
