Police have released the identity of a teenager killed following a highway crash Sunday morning.
Officials with the Thunder Bay detachment of the OPP say Matthew Gibbons, 17, was killed after a collision on Highway 11-17, near Pineview Road.
Police say the crash took place around 5 a.m. Sunday.
The van driven by the teen and a tractor trailer collided, which led to the death of the 17-year-old.
Gibbons was the lone occupant of the van, and was reported dead at the scene.
Police say the two occupants of the truck were not injured as a result of the crash.
