KENORA -- Students who were locked down in four Kenora schools throughout Friday afternoon were released on time amid a heavy police presence.
The Kenora OPP Canine Unit and Emergency Response Teams have apprehended a teenaged male who is suspected to have been carrying a handgun in the vacinity of Beaver Brae Secondary School shortly after noon.
Beaver Brae, Pope John Paul II School, Ste. Marguerite Bourgeoys School and St. Thomas Aquinas High School were all on lockdown throughout the afternoon.
Police would not specify whether the youth is facing charges.
