Two female teenagers are facing robbery charges after a Sunday evening incident at the County Fair splash pad.

Police allege the two 16-year-old suspects approached a group of youngsters, between the ages of eight and 11, and took a pair of backpacks. Two of the boys pursued the teens, who then allegedly threatened to assault them.

The boys alerted their parents, one of whom jumped on his bike, located the girls and retrieved the backpacks without incident.
Police located the girls on a path behind the Landmark Inn a short time later.

One of the teens arrested was found to be breaching the terms of her probation and has been charged accordingly.
Both were remanded into custody during a court appearance Monday.

The suspects cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
