Firefighters from the Neebing Fire Station are on the move once again.
Crews were originally forced out of the fire hall on 20th Sideroad back in February, due to mould contamination in the building. The crew, along with their equipment and fire truck, were temporarily relocated to the James Street fire hall and then to the MNR Fire Base on West Arthur Street. But now with the forest fire season arriving, the MNR needs that space for its own fire crews.
The Neebing firefighters will temporarily move back to the James Street fire hall and then to a mobile bunkhouse being set up next the Neebing fire station. Deputy Chief Greg Hankkio said the building is undergoing a complete mould remediation. But until they find a way to keep the mould from coming back, only the fire truck will be housed there and the bunkhouse will remain there for the foreseeable future.
