Ten Mile Road Race goes virtual in 2021

Event was cancelled in 2020, but organizers are looking for ways to keep the Victoria Day weekend tradition alive in 2021.

THUNDER BAY – There will be a Firefighters’ Ten Mile Road Race in 2021, but it will be held virtually with the uncertainty of the pandemic still hanging around.

Organizers, in a post to the event’s Instragram page, made the announcement on Wednesday.

“That’s right folks, there will be a 2021 virtual event. However, we still have some ‘I’s to dot and ‘t’s to cross before registration is open,” the post reads.

“Thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate through our first virtual 10 Miler.”

The race is traditionally held on the Monday of the long weekend in May, but was cancelled last year because of COVID-19.
