The president of the union representing workers at Terrace Bay Pulp says it appears the operation should re-open by this weekend.

The mill has been shut down since a large blow tank exploded on Oct. 31, killing a 28-year-old mill worker and injuring two others.

Steelworkers Union president Paul Gerlach met with company officials Monday afternoon, and said the main boiler should be started up by Monday night.

Gerlach expects nearly all of the 290 workers to be back to work by Friday.

The mill has two other blow tanks available for producing pulp.

The investigation into the fatal incident continues.
