A truck and two snow mobiles plunged through the ice in the Lake of the Woods area Monday.
Officials with the Kenora detachment of the OPP say officers responded to reports of an SUV going through the ice in the area of Rat Portage First Nations around 5 p.m.
Police say responding officers witnessed a Toyota Sequoia SUV and two new snow machines on a trailer sink into the water.
The three occupants of the vehicle were able to exit safely before the vehicle went into the water.
Police are again cautioning anyone who may consider going onto the ice for any reason that it is not just your own life that may be in jeopardy. Police are asking citizens to consider those who are tasked with attempting to assist.
