THUNDER BAY -- It may take a little longer than anticipated to re-open Thunder Bay's 15th Sideroad to traffic.
The road was one of several in the city that suffered flooding problems following Monday's record rainfall.
While all other roads were re-opened by Thursday damage at the 15th Sideroad was more extensive and requires far more work.
The problem is believed to have been caused by a clogged culvert, which resulted in large amounts of water running over the roadway and some erosion of the road-bed.
Roads Manager Brad Adams said they had hoped to have repair work completed by Friday but they've encountered problems with utility lines in the area that have slowed progress.
Adams added it will now be sometime Saturday before all work is complete.
