THUNDER BAY – The GameShelf, a locally owned company, is holding a week-long auction starting Friday for a complete Russian army for the World War 2 tabletop miniatures game, Flames of War.
“It’s a miniatures game where you redo battles the battles of World War II, it’s a full Soviet army. It’s about $450 value and all proceeds for the auction are going to humanitarian relief in Ukraine,” said Mitchell Kadolph, assistant manager/associate.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Global Giving Ukrainian Crisis Relief Fund, a charity verified by the American Better Business Bureau.
“We find it very important to do whatever little bit we can to help people who are suffering right now and if we can do a little bit to help them, that’s better than doing nothing,” said Kadolph.
The donation will provide:
- Shelter, food, and clean water for refugees
- Health and psychosocial support
- Access to education and economic assistance
- And more
This will be an opportunity to get involved in a new hobby or to gift this army to someone else, so they can get involved while contributing to a worthwhile cause.
