THUNDER BAY – The City of Thunder Bay is excited to present classic Canadian rock act The Northern Pikes on July 18 at Live on the Waterfront, presented by Ontario Power Generation.

The Northern Pikes has produced hits like She Ain’t Pretty, Teenland, Girl With a Problem and more. After 35 years, the band continues to perform like a new group, bringing a fresh start to the stage every time. As audiences at recent festival shows can attest, there is a real fire on stage when The Northern Pikes perform.

“The band in many ways sounds better than it ever has,” said bass player Jay Semko. “I just feel there’s solidarity in the songs that we’re playing, and I feel like there’s new life to some of the ones we have played forever. It’s the old-fashioned work ethic – dig in, work at it, rehearse, and when you play, come prepared.”

Thunder Bay rock acts, Tourist Bureau and The Roosters, will also perform July 18. Live on the Waterfront, funded in part by the Government of Ontario, runs 6–9 pm every Wednesday until August 29.
