The Northwestern Health Unit announces four new COVID-19 cases

There are 19 active cases in the NWHU's service area.

KENORA, Ont. — The health unit that serves the western part of Northwestern Ontario reported four new COVID-19 cases in its service area Wednesday.

The Northwestern Health Unit said three of the cases are in the Sioux Lookout region, bringing the number of active cases there to 10.

There's also a new case in the Dryden/Red Lake region, where the active case count now stands at four.

Across the entire NWHU jurisdiction, there are currently 19 active cases including three in the Kenora area and two in the Rainy River district.

One person is currently receiving treatment for COVID-19 in hospital.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reported 134 active cases on Wednesday, with two individuals in hospital.
